Every birthday party ends the same way: the host spent half the night behind their own phone, the best photos are scattered across fifteen camera rolls, and the group chat delivers maybe six of them — compressed, three weeks late, mostly of the cake. The people who actually saw the party — your guests — took hundreds of photos you will never see.
Flass fixes this with an old idea: the disposable camera on the party table. Guests scan a QR code and a camera opens instantly in their phone — no app to download, no account to create. Everyone gets a limited roll of shots, which makes people aim instead of spray. The photos are hidden while the party runs, then the whole album develops the next morning: one place, every guest's point of view, in order, from the first arrival to whatever happened after midnight.
How it works at a birthday
You set it up in about two minutes, before the guests arrive:
Create the event, print the QR
Name the event, pick when the album should reveal, and put the QR code where people sit — on tables, by the bar, next to the cake. That's the whole setup.
Guests scan and shoot
The camera opens straight from the QR — in the browser on any phone, and as an instant App Clip on iPhone. Grandparents manage it. Kids definitely manage it.
The roll is limited on purpose
Each guest gets a fixed number of shots, like a real disposable camera. Scarcity makes the photos better: people frame the moment instead of filming the whole night through a screen.
Nobody sees anything until the reveal
Photos stay hidden while the party runs — no mid-party curating, no deleting, no self-consciousness. The next morning the album develops, and you see your own party through everyone else's eyes.

Guests can also capture short video clips with the same film feel — the toast, the song, the moment the cake arrives.
Why the reveal beats a live feed
Most photo-sharing tools pour everything into a live feed, and the party quietly turns into an audience watching a screen. We deliberately do the opposite. While the party runs, Flass is just a camera — the fun stays in the room. The album is the next morning's event: coffee, sore feet, and three hundred photos you didn't know existed. Hosts tell us the reveal is the part they'd pay for on its own — it's the closest thing to picking up developed film at the shop, except the film is your birthday.
If you do want a screen moment at the party itself, Party Mode plays a live slideshow — but it's optional, and the hidden-until-reveal default is the experience we'd argue for.
